SILVER PLATED SUGAR BOWL, 19TH CENTURYA 19th century silver plated sugar bowl by B. Buch for WMF, the body decorated with twin panels of neoclassical motifs of griffons, fitted with a conforming lid with fluted detail and raised overall upon four foliate shaped supports, the underside bearing impressed marks for B. Buch Warsaw. Buch was first established in 1809 in St. Petersburg Russia, later opening a factory in Warsaw in 1860, and were awarded the prestigious Gold Medal at the 1872 Moscow Exhibition, and in 1900 they became a subsidiary of the German firm of Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF). Measuring 5” h x 7.5” w x 4.5” d. Photos to follow.
